Can I see how much power my panels are producing?

Yes. The microinverter connects to your Wi-Fi and reports to a phone app, showing live output in watts and a production curve you can look back over by day, month and year. Most members check it obsessively for the first fortnight and then settle down.

Understand what it is measuring: the app sits on the inverter, so it knows exactly what the panels produced and nothing else. It has no visibility into what your house was drawing at the same moment. That means it cannot tell you how much of your generation you actually used, how much went to the grid, or what you saved. Production is only half the arithmetic.

So how do I work out what I'm actually saving?

You need consumption data to set against production. Many utilities let you download your own usage in hourly or 15-minute intervals, often through a Green Button link in your online account. A whole-home energy monitor clamped to your main feed does the same job continuously. Either one can tell you the half of the story the app cannot.

Does the app work if my Wi-Fi drops?

The inverter keeps generating. Reporting is a separate function from producing power, so a network outage costs you data, not electricity. Most units backfill once they reconnect.

Will the numbers match my electricity bill?

Not directly, and they are not meant to. Your bill records what you imported from the grid. Production that you consumed on the spot never appears on the bill at all, which is exactly where the saving is.

Why is my output lower than the panel rating?

Panel ratings are measured under standard test conditions that the real world rarely matches. Angle, temperature, haze, dirt and time of year all take a share. Watching the curve across a few weeks tells you far more than any single peak reading.
